The holder of the most significant chair in Sufi Islam; that of the Naqib al Ashraaf (Spiritual Head of Iraq's Hasani and Husayni Sufi descendents of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Iraq's Sufi Muslims, Guardian and Custodian of the Mosque and Tomb of Ghawth al Adham Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani of Baghdad) was in Hyderabad on the invitation of Indo-Arab Chairman Syed Vicaruddin, to advise Muslims of their spiritual responsibility towards Baghdad during this era of unwanted wars and terrorism.
H.E. Sayed Ahmed al-Jilani arrived in the first week of April, where he was greeted by hundreds of Mashaikh and hundreds of thousands of devotees of Ghawth al Adham from all throughout India, all of whom yielded to his supreme office over Sufi Muslims, and about which ASFC Chairman remarked, "the office of Naqib al Ashraaf is superior in symbolic importance and value to Sufi Muslims even more than that of the Grand Imam of Al Azhar".
Naqib al Ashraaf H.E. Sayed Ahmed al-Jilani was the highest ranking Sufi Saint from Baghdad to visit Hyderabad, Deccan in more than fifty-five years. He was greeted at the Hyderabad International Airport by the Indo-Arab League Chairman, ASFC Chairman and a host of Mashaikh and other dignitaries and security personnel who all stood patiently for him to arrive to their bless their city.
Upon arriving to the Deccan, H.E. was escorted by an entourage of cars to his hotel suite where he stayed for a little over one week, and thereafter will return to Baghdad via the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
During his stay in Hyderabad, H.E. developed a particular
love and admiration for ASFC Chairman Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin and conferred upon
him the following titles,
"Sayyid Ahmed Effendi"
"Shaykh Ahmed Pasha"
"Amiruddin wal Dunya"
"Our Son"
The Shaykh then granted his Shajarah to the ASFC Chairman and thereafter told all Mashaikh and dignitaries who were present, "He (Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin) is the Shaykh of the area. Everyone must listen to him. Everyone must obey him"..."Do you know who he is? He is a big Shaykh"
When asked by the ASFC Chairman about his own personal and family background and about the state of affairs in Iraq, H.E. Naqib al Ashraaf replied, "My grandfather Abd al-Rahman al Naqib was the first Head of State and Prime Minister of Iraq during the time of King Faisal, then Naqib al Ashraaf after him was my father...then my cousin Syed Ibrahim al-Gailani (Pir Ibrahim); who was the son of my aunt Fatima, the sister of my father...His (Pir Ibrahim) sons were Najmuddin and Shamsuddin...Pir Sayed Tahir Allauddin al-Jilani (the Shaykh of internationally renowned Sunni scholar Dr. Tahir ul Qadri) was my younger brother (may Allah have mercy on him). I served as the Iraqi Ambassador to Morrocco..."

When asked by the ASFC Chairman if he had any message for Canadian people, H.E. Naqib al Ashraaf replied, "My message to them (Canadians) is, make friends with Muslims, Arabs and Iraqi people".
The parting advice of H.E. Naqib al Ashraaf to ASFC Chairman was, "(I want) you to stand in my place and bless (the people)".
