Reuters'09 online poll: ASFC spiritual leader h.E Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani second most influential Muslim in the world

 

 

Introduction

 

The term 'Sunnah' is Arabic for 'The Enlightened way, hence the correct translation for Al sunnah foundation (ASFC) would be 'the Enlightened way' foundation.   Al Sunnah Foundation of Canada (ASFC) was established by Sayyid Ahmed Amiruddin, a Deputy-Shaykh of the Baha ud-Din Naqshband Bukhari school, authorized by his holiness Shaykh Mehmet Nazim al-qubrusi, one of the TOP three most influential Muslims in the world according to an online poll conducted by Reuters, In response to the historic 2006 Toronto terrorism plot and arrests.  ASFC was incorporated in Canada as a registered charitable non-profit organization whose specific purpose included engaging the community to prevent radicalization. 

 

Mission

 

In response to Canada’s changing diversity, and to address emerging issues such as radicalization, Asfc’s mission focus’ particular attention to the following priorities:

 

a.  In the specific context to support the de-radicalization process and prevent radicalization, Asfc is committed to indentify the causes, drivers, and means of radicalization and pro-actively craft strategies and plans to diffuse and/or ideally eliminate these subversive and severely destructive elements within at-risk cultural communities in Canada. 

  

b.  Supporting the economic, social, and cultural integration of new Canadians and cultural communities; 

 

c.  Facilitating programs such as mentorship, volunteerism, leadership, and civic education among at-risk cultural youth; and

 

d.  Promoting inter-cultural understanding and Canadian values (Democracy, freedom, human rights and rule of law) through community initiatives, with the objective of addressing issues of cultural social exclusion (parallel communities) and radicalization.
